You will provide leadership and oversight for a team of 2 backend developers while integrating with the larger Payments Core team, under the direction of the Payments Core Engineering Manager.

What you’ll do as a Tech Lead 

  • Execute and deliver software and services from the 2 backend developers, and provide architectural and technical guidance to them.
  • Communicate progress and raise roadblocks to greater team on projects.
  • Code in C# as well as conduct code reviews, leading or participating in design discussions, jumping in on testing as the need arises, and getting new features deployed.
  • Look for diverse perspectives, challenging business and technical assumptions.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of software engineering concepts.

Mandatory skills

  • Experience working in an offshore environment
  • Experience leading teams, especially remote
  • Backend development and architecture skills
  • Backend .NET Development experience, especially with HTTP APIs
  • C# is a must-have
  • Openness to learning F#
  • Experience supporting live environments (Monitoring and observability)
  • Experience with distributed development
  • Experience with high-volume applications
  • Database development experience (MS SQL Server)
  • Experience with writing and maintaining test automation
  • SOA and microservice experience

Nice to have

  • Experience with payment processing (PCI compliance)
  • Functional programming experience (F#)

Non-technical skills

  • Great communication skills - you engage in conversations, give and receive well new ideas and feedbacks
